A psychologist who believes in your capacity to grow.
Licensed clinical psychologist. Military veteran. Healthcare executive. Dr. Timothy Scott Burch, Psy.D. brings 20 years of service and a deeply human approach to every session.
My approach to therapy
I view therapy as a collaborative, structured process tailored to each patient's unique physiological, psychological, and situational needs. Every client's journey is unique — I start by listening carefully to your story and the specific challenges bringing you to therapy.
From there, we work as a team to identify the sources of your stress and build practical strategies that empower you to thrive in your day-to-day life. Whether we draw on present-focused skills, learn to navigate tough emotions, or process deeper memories — we decide the best path forward together.
Grounded in a comprehensive lifespan perspective, my goal is to foster long-term resilience, functional recovery, and health optimization through evidence-based practice.
A career built on service
Originally from Connersville, Indiana, my career in mental health began in community-based and residential settings. Early on, I worked directly with children and adolescents in residential care facilities, provided care within group homes, and delivered specialized behavioral support to adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder — focusing on community integration, independent living, and employment transitions.
Following this foundational clinical experience, I pursued doctoral studies in clinical psychology and joined the U.S. Army for my residency and active-duty service. Over a 20-year military career, I managed multidisciplinary behavioral health clinics, commanded operational stress control units, and served as the national Subject Matter Expert for sleep health with the U.S. Army Office of the Surgeon General.
As I transition from military service, my private practice delivers high-impact, compassionate, and scientifically grounded psychological care across the lifespan — bringing the same rigor and commitment I brought to serving our nation's service members.
"I believe deeply in your capacity to change — and I'll be in your corner every step of the way."
